Substance Abuse & Addiction Counselors teach clients how to cope with stress and life’s problems in healthy ways and help them rebuild professional and personal relationships.

Health care administrators are responsible for the overall management and oversight of health care organizations. Facilities that rely on health care administrators for leadership include hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, pharmaceutical companies, health insurance companies and long-term care facilities.

Medical assistants perform administrative duties, including answering telephones, updating and filing patients’ medical records, filling out insurance forms, handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, arranging for hospital admission and laboratory services.

Health Claims Examiners organize and manage health information data by ensuring that it maintains its quality, accuracy, accessibility, and security in both paper files and electronic systems.

Pharmacy Technicians receive written prescriptions or requests for prescription refills from patients. They also may receive prescriptions sent electronically from the doctor’s office. They must verify that the information on the prescription is complete and accurate.

Phlebotomists are medical professionals who work in a variety of settings collecting blood using proper techniques and standard precautions.

Continuing pharmacy education is “a structured educational activity designed or intended to support the continuing development of pharmacists and/or pharmacy technicians to maintain and enhance their competence.”

Galaxy Medical College offers American Heart Association (AHA)-approved CPR, BLS, and Heartsaver® Certification Courses. Our certification programs can take place here at Galaxy Medical College or we can send our instructor(s) to your office or event!
